Cuando conseguimos algo, cuando logramos algo importante o especial we get a feather in our cap. Por ejemplo: Mary got another feather in her cap with the publication of her new book.
Este cliché se refiere a la antigua costumbre en algunas culturas de añadir una pluma a la gorra del guerrero cuando mataba a un enemigo.
La expresión es muy común: “This is quite a feather in our cap.” Blue Spring Examiner, Jan. 29, 2010. También en el London Daily Telegraph (electronic edition of 1992 20404) as: “It will be quite a feather in his cap if Cambridge wins today.”
