My reflections on language learning have so many odds against them that I often feel they might be in error. I am not certain of anything, of course, and I must concede that if so many have so many misconceptions -to me- about how to go about acquiring a language, even one's own, there may be a chink through which my concepts, ideas, theories escape and steam up into nothingness.
I may be wrong after all. I may be talking through my hat. Everybody else may be right... to my chagrin and vexation.
