Sobre niños e hijos

Es curioso, pero el idioma inglés se las ve y se las desea a veces para expresar ideas simples:

How many children do you have? I have two children a boy and a girl. ¿Cuántos hijos tienes? Dos, chico y chica.

I am an only child. Soy hijo único.

I have three children. The oldest is fifty and the youngest is ten. Tengo tres hijos. El mayor tiene cincuenta y el pequeño diez.

Pero diremos My oldest son lives in Alaska and my daughter lives in Paris.
