LAS LENGUAS INGLESA Y ESPAÑOLA de Delfín Carbonell

Emplear " at this time " en vez de "now" puede parecer elegante pero es estúpido. Escribir "we don´t need your help at this time" en vez de "we don´t need your help now" es bobo.  Usar "if and when" en vez de "if" o "when" a secas demuestra falta de respeto. No diga usted: "I´ll give him the message if and when I see him" por "I´ll give him the message when I see him." Y santas pascuas. " In order to " es otra muletilla inane en inglés. Mejor emplear "to" sólo, y no se hable más. "I have come in order to tell you I want to buy your car." ¿Y qué le pasa a "I have come to tell you I want to buy your car."? 

Lo peor de "in order to" es que lo han traducido al castellano y pulula por los malos escritos como "en orden a". ¡Jamás! Nunca diremos: "I study in order to learn" sino "I study to learn." Le daremos un palmetazo virtual al que diga: "Trabajo en orden a vivir mejor." ¿Por qué no "trabajo para vivir mejor"? Ahí queda eso.
