In language, trifles matter

It’s fair to say that we’ve strove to listen and understand,” (Emphasis mine.) Esforzarse: to strive - strove - striven . Pero no "we have strove."

Normalmente el objeto indirecto se coloca delante del directo: I gave him the money. Podemos emplear las preposiciones to o for : Give it to me , dámelo I bought the book for her , compré el libro para ella En estos casos el objeto directo se coloca delante del indirecto, por la preposición. Podemos decir: I bought her a book o I bought a book for her . He gave me the book o He gave the book to me . Peter gave the flu to me o Peter gave me the flu .
