Skip personal pronouns in Spanish
In Spanish, a sure way to spot a foreigner, especially an English speaker, is the constant use of the personal pronouns: "Yo" quiero pedir macarrones. ¿"Tú" quieres sangría? "Nosotros" somos americanos... which sounds false, faux, fake. Native speakers of Spanish will say: Quiero pedir macarrones. ¿Quieres sangría? Somos americanos, because that´s why we have endings. When a verb ends in "o" we know that "o" means "yo": como, hablo, escribo.
Pronouns are used to emphasize, stress: Yo quiero ir, stressing the yo. Tú has roto el jarrón, stressing the tú... tú y nadie más.
You´ll never go broke skipping personal pronouns in Spanish.
