LEARNING GRAMMAR FROM EXPRESSIONS

There is a lot of grammar to be learnt from set expressions, from idioms. "Llevar a alguien en brazos", carry someone in one´s arms,  for example, teaches us that in Spanish the possessive is not used with the human anatomy. In English, I can carry Margaret to the altar in my arms, but in Spanish "llevaré a Margarita al altar en brazos." He hit my in my left eye, would translate as "me pegó en el ojo Izquierdo."
Me duele la mano - my hand hurts
Tiene el pelo sucio - her hair is dirty
Tengo algo en el oído - I have something in my ear
