VER POR UN AGUJERITO Y FLY ON THE WALL

"Si pudiéramos ver por un agujerito lo que hace Paquita, nos llevaríamos una sorpresa." Significa que si pudiésemos espiar a alguien -por un agujero- veríamos su realidad. En la revista Tiempo (24/12/1990) se lee la expresión  “Si miráramos por un agujerito, veríamos la cantidad de personajes…” Y "cómo la hubiera calificado Sofía si hubiera podido mirar por un agujerito" nos dice  la novelista Lola Baccaría en La luna en Jorge, 2001. La expresión existe y, sin embargo, no aparece en diccionarios. La idea de espiar sin ser vistos, por métodos milagrosos, existe en inglés como Be a fly on the wall: veamos.
