BEWARE OF AI BEARING (FALSE) INFORMATION

 

I have come to the conclusion that AI is a false friend, a liar, and a cheat. It has supplied me, knowingly, with false information that could be verified nowhere. It has invented answers to please my needs. AI has given me quotations that it has pulled out of thin air. Furthermore, it makes up turns of phrase and even idiomatic expressions of its own invention, thus altering and influencing the normal course of language change. I have baited it often, and it has risen to the bait on many occasions. Use it, but use it with a grain of salt, and beware lest you become the laughing stock in your field of scholarship.
