ACTUALLY VS ACTUALMENTE

 Actually vs Actualmente

False friends are everywhere, and actually / actualmente is one of the most deceptive pairs.

In English, actually means in fact, really: She looks tired, but actually she feels fine.

In Spanish, actualmente means now, at present: Actualmente vivo en Madrid.
Confusing them creates odd sentences:
A Spaniard might say, “I actually live in Barcelona” when they mean “Actualmente trabajo en Barcelona.”
An English speaker might blurt: “Actualmente, I like this idea” when they mean “En realidad me gusta esta idea.”
Rule of thumb:
Actually → en realidad, realmente.
Actualmente → currently, at present.
One word points to truth, the other to time. They look alike, but they walk different roads.
