NOBEL PEACE PRIZE 2025



As a lifelong defender of Freedom and Democracy, born under a dictatorship and the son of a father, with uncles who suffered imprisonment in Franco’s concentration camps, along with exile, I am overjoyed that the Norwegian Nobel Committee has seen fit to award the Peace Prize to a courageous democrat and defender of peace and freedom in her country and the world: MARÍA CORINA MACHADO, of VENEZUELA, “for her tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy.”

Hope for democracy has been rekindled in the hearts of democrats worldwide. Congratulations to all!
